The legacy of former families in our community remains, continuing to enrich the boys education.

Now we can contribute to this tradition.

Why have a School Building Fund?
St Edmund’s College strives to offer first class facilities to students and staff. This requires the commitment of significant resources. While all parents pay tuition fees, these fees cover the essential running costs of the College and the provision of curriculum and co-curricular materials for students. The St Edmund’s College Canberra Building Fund offers parents a tax effective way of assisting with the costs of buildings and loan repayments. Thus, the College is able to minimise the increase in tuition fees which would otherwise be needed.

What is the School Building Fund?
The St Edmund’s College Canberra Building Fund is a separate fund established within guidelines issued by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO). By complying with these guidelines all gifts to the Fund are tax-deductible to those who make the gifts. The guidelines also stipulate that expenditure from the Fund must relate to school buildings and can be used for things such as construction, refurbishment, repair and maintenance and also repayment of capital loans.

How can you contribute to the Fund?
On the tuition fee notice issued each Term there is a suggested gift amount. While making the gift is voluntary to meet the ATO guidelines, it is hoped and expected that parents will contribute at least this amount.
Gifts can be made to the Fund at any time and for any amount.

What will gifts to the Fund be used for in the future?
St Edmund’s College has commenced site development in line with our Master Plan for future development of the College.  This Plan has identified projects to be undertaken over the next few years to enhance the facilities for our students. Some projects poised to commence in the immediate future include the refurbishment of some Middle School classrooms and the refurbishment of the Food Science kitchens.

Building on the legacy of previous generations of Brothers, teachers, parents and students, St Edmund's College has begun a new chapter in its growth. To be true to our Edmund Rice tradition of developing young men who will go into our world to make a difference we ask for your support.

All contributions to the Building Fund will assist the College in the provision of first class facilities to enhance the educational opportunities available to our current students and to the next generation of Eddie's boys.

We gratefully acknowledge the support of many parents over the years and encourage your generous support and commitment to the development of our College now and in the years to come.
