Football (Soccer)
Football (Soccer) at St. Edmund's College has continued to grow as the game becomes more and more popular with boys at the school. In 2009 we fielded 14 teams with approximately 200 boys playing football at different levels.
The aim of the Football (Soccer) Committee is to provide students of the College with an opportunity to enjoy their football and improve their skills in a happy, safe, competitive and friendly environment. The College is proud of its reputation for good sporting behavior and it is expected that its members do their best to maintain this tradition.
Our Mission Statement is to promote and develop recreational and competitive football in line with School policies, promote the ideals of "fair play", where participation and fun are key elements and to promote harmony and friendship among all participants.
One of the annual competitions in which St Edmund's College participates is the MarSEC Shield tournament. We must congratulate St Edmund's College on their win in the 2009 tournament.
We also have boys playing in the Kanga Cup and a number of other tournaments such as the tour weekend to Cowra or Young to play in a round robin tournament.

St. Edmund's football forms a major part of the College's extra curricular and sporting activities and we are a full member of the ACT Football Federation Incorporated (trading as 'Capital Football').
St. Edmund's Football Committee holds regular meetings that are open to all members of the school community. Location, dates and times are advised in the school calendar, the Vortex and on the SEC Football website.
Our Patron is Middle School Principal Ms Pat Doyle who is eager to see football grow to its full potential at the College. The Master in Charge of Football at the College is Mr John Windsor who is replacing Fred Zarb who gave 9 years of dedicated service to Football at St Edmund's. The Football Committee members are listed on the SEC Football website.
St. Edmund's Football colours are royal blue and white.
