Languages

The Language Department aims to provide the students with a supportive environment where students can develop their full potential in an atmosphere that is conducive to learning a second language. It is hoped that students will enjoy learning and that with a variety of teaching strategies the courses will be broad and flexible.

Language Coures for Yrs 11 & 12

St Edmund's College offers four courses in Yrs 11 & 12, Beginning French, Continuing French, Beginning Japanese and Continuing Japanese.  Each course is offered at a Tertiary Level (course leading University entry) and may studied either a Major or a Minor.  For example, a student might study a Minor course for one year and a Major course for two years.

No prerequisites are required for Beginning French or for Beginning Japanese.  The Continuing courses, however, require language skills comparable up to Yr 10 level.

The ACT BSSS website offers full course frameworks and course content.
