St Edmund's College Canberra Scholarship Fund
Helping the Underprivileged of Canberra To Receive a Quality Catholic Education.
Inspired by the charism of Edmund Rice, St Edmundís College established the St Edmundís College Canberra Scholarship Fund (SECC Scholarship Fund) to give financial assistance to marginalised or disadvantaged families so that the cost of educating their sons would be alleviated.
Since its inception in 1988, the SECC Scholarship Fund has supported the education of over 100 young men to secure a quality Catholic education at St Edmundís College, Canberra.
The current demand for assistance exceeds our current capacity.
We need your help, and ask you to make a tax deductible gift to the SECC Scholarship Fund.
With your gift you will be leaving a lasting legacy that will benefit current students as well as students for generations to come.
Your gift to the SECC Scholarship Fund will enable sons of families in need of help accessing St Edmundís College as well as ensure that our student population continues to flourish as it embraces a blend of capable boys from diverse backgrounds.
Eligibility for the support by the St Edmundís College Canberra Scholarship Fund is means tested ensuring your gift will go to the most deserving of students.
The Scholarshipís funds support the following:
Disadvantaged Students: Financial barriers may limit the ability of some families to provide an Edmund Rice Education for their sons. The fundís means tested bursaries provide appropriate fee relief to ensure that these boys have the quality education that they deserve.
Sons of Old Boys: At times, tragedy may effect the families of our Old Boys. During these times of crisis, the SECC Scholarship Fund will step in to ensure that the sons of our Old Boys are able continue their education at St Edmundís College without disruption.
Indigenous Students: Despite the improvements in the National Education Outcomes for Indigenous students, gaps persist between Indigenous and non-indigenous student educational outcomes in Australia. St Edmundís College believes that closing these gaps is possible and is dedicated to improving educational access for Indigenous young people in the Canberra region. In all cases, the financial circumstances of the family are taken into consideration.
Uniforms and Excursions: The SECC Scholarship Fund assists appropriate families with the costs of school related expenses, such as uniforms or excursions.
