Mathematics
The Mathematics Faculty operates a wide range of courses to meet the needs of all students. Student assessment is varied. Besides the more traditional tests and assignments, students attempt open ended assignments, oral presentations and group work tasks. more information >
Science
Science is a dynamic human activity, which develops our understanding of the physical and biological world. Science classes encourage students to express, question and test their existing understanding, and apply what they have learnt. Openness to new ideas, intellectual honesty and an ability to evaluate arguments are fundamentally important to scientific understanding. more information >
Physical Education (PDHPE)
Physical Education and Health at St Edmunds is designed to help students develop a positive attitude toward physical activity. In striving to achieve this we are trying to promote an active and healthy lifestyle. more information >
Creative and Performing Arts
Music at St Edmund's College is a key part of the broad education that the college offers to its students. The classroom music programme is available to all students across all levels of schooling from Middle School years through to Middle School, High School and Senior College. more information >
Languages
The Languages Department aims to provide the students with a supportive environment where students can develop their full potential in an atmosphere that is conducive to learning a language. It is hoped that students will enjoy learning and that with a variety of teaching strategies the courses will be broad and flexible. It is also hoped that students will gain a better understanding of cultures other than their own as well as their own and so fit into Australian society with a Christian and tolerant attitude that fits well into the St Edmunds College Mission Statement. more information >
Social Science
The Social Science department offers a wide variety of subjects to students from years 4 to 12. Each student from year 7 to 10 will study at least one Social Science subject every year. Year 9 and 10 are able to choose electives from the subjects offered. more information >
Information and Technology and Applied Science
In the Technology and Applied Studies learning area, students apply knowledge, skills, experience and resources to the development of technological solutions that are designed to meet the changing needs of individuals, societies and environments. Students become innovative, adaptable and reflective as they select and use appropriate materials, information, systems and processes to create solutions that consider the short- and long-term impact on societies and environments. more information >
Hospitality
The subject Food Science and Hospitality was unheard of in an all boys school 15years ago. Today, it has become one of the most popular electives with the school. more information >
