One Week of Mission is a week dedicated to Mission and Identity within the College.
The week generally consists of:
The objective of the week overall is for the College to raise as much money as possible for the various house charities which are supported by the College.
The Brothers’ program encourages students to go above and beyond, and pushes them to use their unique gifts and talents in service for others. Brothers’ provides a framework for students to lead in an area of their choice and to follow the call from Edmund Rice to be at the service of others.
Students receive an award based on the number of hours of community service they do during their senior years at the College.
A bronze award recognizes 55 hours of community service
A silver award recognizes 150 hours of community service
A gold award recognizes 300 hours of community service
The Blue and White award is presented to members of the College Community who have been outstanding witnesses to the service of others. Recent recipients of this prestigious award have been Br. Matt McKeon and Fr. Frank Jones.
The Northern Territory Mission is a week long trip where two teams of Youth Ministry students use the skills they have developed in the Youth Ministry Program to deliver retreats to the students of Darwin, the Tiwi Islands, and in 2014, Daly River. The mission also focuses on reaching out to the indigenous communities to learn indigenous culture and volunteering their time in classes.
The Indian Immersion Experience is a two week long Immersion into the heart of India. Students and staff members who participate in the Immersion raise funds before they leave to donate to the charities they visit and volunteer at on their journey. The Immersion aims to:
